The source of reality is inside of you. It is your essence! It is what you are made of! It is you! As we evolve into the 5th dimension, more and more of us are beginning to recognizing this aspect of self. Some of us are moving into this space easily, some are resisting. It can be a difficult shift to release the beliefs of separation that we grew up with. We have to face the fear of the uncertainty of the choice to leave behind a ‘known’ way of doing things and step into the unknown. What if we do it wrong? What if it doesn’t work? What if I screw this up? Then what?

I find that most people have a hard time letting go of those fears (or of anything actually) unless they have something else to grab a hold of. Usually they prefer to grab a hold of something that they know (or is solid) so that they don’t have to face their issues of trusting in the unknown. This alone keeps people from going within. The fear of the unknown can be debilitating. But, it doesn’t have to be. The more the focus is on the fear of the unknown the more we get stuck there. Focusing on fear, of any nature, keeps us in the state of fear, keeps us experiencing the same thing over and over, nothing changes, and nothing moves.

What most people don’t realize is that the simple act of going within brings us to Consciousness. That Consciousness is all intelligence in the Universe! It is everything, all things. When we shift our focus within we begin to experience the Truth of existence. New beliefs are formed from this experience and the old beliefs, the ones that are no longer productive for us, simply fade…all by themselves. Simply by shifting our focus and experiencing a new understanding, the old beliefs vanish easily.

I think that we all have an intellectual knowing that there is no such thing as separation, that we are indeed the Soul/Universe/God/Spirit. Our societal teachings and beliefs in our ego minds however, take center stage. It’s time to cross that bridge into Oneness.

There is never a time when we are separate from anything! Nothing! No thing! We do not need to perform any acts to create Unity, it is already there. We do not have try harder. We do not have to be smarter or better. We are already One. We have always been One and we will always be One. That will never change. We only need to be aware of it. That awareness happens when we take that trip within. It is simply a shift in focus. A choice, a simple choice, of where you would like to put your focus. You can choose to focus on the illusion of separation or in the Truth of Oneness.

Our lives are created, and lived, through our choices. If we choose to focus on fear, even though it truly doesn’t exist, we will live it constantly. If we choose to focus on Oneness, we will live it constantly.

This is a choice that needs dedication, focus and awareness. The more we choose to focus on within, the easier it gets to stay in that space. We have been focused on fear for so long, that it has become a habit. Changing habits take time, awareness and dedication.

There are several ways to shift your awareness to within. The word meditation strikes fear in the hearts of most people. I find that this is because they don’t understand meditation. They are led to believe that meditation means they have to turn their minds off. People’s first reaction is “I can’t do that!” and so they won’t even try. I’m here to tell you that meditation is not about turning off the mind, it is about focusing it so intently on one specific thing that it facilitates going within.

Yes, you do have to sit quietly…but once you get the technique down, you can do this anytime, anywhere. Although I do sit to meditate, I often find myself doing at other time, like while I am washing dishes, brushing my teeth, taking a shower, or walking my dog. It is not a difficult task. Don’t let your fear, or misunderstanding of meditation stop you from trying this.

Sit quietly (or while walking in nature, but something quiet) and undisturbed. Choose to focus on one thing. It can be a prayer, a single word or mantra (Om, Shakti, Bliss, etc.). Silently repeat the word or words to yourself, letting them settle naturally into your awareness, becoming softer and deeper. Continue for at least five minutes, or for as long as you like.

If your mind sneaks in with thoughts like “I should be doing something else” gently shift your awareness back to your prayer or mantra. Simply choose to focus on the mantra instead of the voice in your head. If you focus on turning your mind off, it will only get louder. If you focus on the mantra or prayer, the voice in your head gets quieter all by itself.

Have no expectations about what will occur during this exercise or where will take you. Go into this with an open heart and open mind. Do not try to direct it, allow it to take you where it will. Practice this exercise as often as you can during the day. The more you practice it, the easier it gets, the deeper within you go and your experience changes. This exercise works to remove the artificial boundary between the isolated ego-self and Consciousness (your higher self, Universe, Spirit, God, Soul).

I send all of you Love, and would love to hear about your experiences with this exercise!

Love, Always!
